5 creative ways to sneak turmeric powder into your diet

With its abundance of nutritional benefits, turmeric powder is revered as the royalty of all superfoods. This bright-yellow herbaceous perennial is known to have anti-inflammatory, immunity boosting, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and a natural painkiller properties.

We are sure that you have heard about turmeric powder before and its amazing health benefits. The best way to reap its benefits is by consuming ½ - 1½ teaspoons each day - which can be a challenge because turmeric powder has a dry texture and a slightly bitter flavour profile.

If taking your daily dose straight-on with a spoon first thing in the morning doesn’t appeal to you, here are 5 alternative ways to sneak turmeric into your everyday diet that can be enjoyed by all - without leaving a bad taste in your mouth!

1. Golden Milk

Combine one cup of the milk of your choice, one teaspoon powdered turmeric, and one teaspoon powdered ginger. Bring to a boil, allow to cool, and enjoy! Optional: add one teaspoon nutmeg and/or cinnamon.

2. Add it into Soups

Add turmeric into soups! Mix in half a teaspoon of turmeric into your bowl of soup to get your daily dose without the bitter taste. My personal recommendation: lentil soup
